It's All About The Clutch

I love a good clutch bag as I'm sure all of you do too. They may not be the most practical things in the world when it comes to packing everything you need to carry around but some of the designs you can buy are just so pretty! May Favourites

Hi Beauties!

It’s that time when everyone is putting up their ‘favourites of the month’ posts so here is mine. This month I have not used anything dramatically different but there are a few products that I have been reaching for a bit more and rediscovering.

Elf Studio Blusher in ‘Berry Merry’
I love the elf studio blushers. They are great quality and have fantastic pigmentation. I have been using this blush quite a lot this month as I have switched up my foundation routine and this deep pink really compliments the foundation that I have been using.

L’Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation
I used this foundation a lot last summer but after using it everyday for a few months it began to make my skin look quite shiny when I was wearing it. I tried using it again and I have fallen in love with it all over again. It has light infusing technology which gives you a lovely dewy look which I think is great in the summer. I have been using this every few days rather than every day to avoid my skin looking shiny again. As much as I love this foundation I would not recommend it if you have oily skin.

Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Mask
Earlier in the month my skin decided to throw a complete hissy fit and not be my friend. I started getting the awful under skin spots on my chin which did not just look hideous but were quite painful. I picked up this mask after reading various blog posts about it and it worked wonders. At first I thought it was quite expensive for what it is at just under £6 for a little tub but honestly your skin looks and feels so much better after using it.

Dolly Shoes
Since the weather has started to pick up again, I say after looking out at grey clouds, I have started wearing dolly shoes again. I love a pretty pair of dolly shoes and I have so many. I find them really comfy and you can get so many different designs to compliment any outfit.

I love reading favourites posts so leave your links below

NOTD: Essie 'Neo Whimsical'

Another beautiful shade from Essie today. I have only recently started using Essie nail polishes and I have to say that I love them. The colours are fantastic and the quality is great. I like this shade. 'Neo Whimsical' as it is a lovely neutral shade that can go with anything. A girl can never have too many light pink nail varnishes!

What do you think of this nail varnish?

DIY: Bling Crystal Peep Toe Shoes

A slightly different post today, I decided to be creative! I have seen numerous companies selling crystal peep toe shoes at quite high prices so decided I would try and make my own to save a bit of money and I think they turned out quite well. So if you want to make your own here's how I did it:

E6000 Glue, Flat Back Crystals, Bobby pin or Tweezers, Peep Toe Shoes

  1. First off all I would recommend using a magazine to cover the work surface that you are using. This will protect the work surface and will make it easier to pick up any dropped crystals. Ensure you follow the safety instructions that are printed on the glue.
  2. Depending on the size of the crystals you are using will depend on the tool you use to pick up the crystals. The ones that I used are quite small so what I did was put a little bit of glue on the stick end of a bobby pin and wait until it becomes tacky, this will then be able to pick up your crystals. If you are using bigger crystals then you can use tweezers to pick them up. You can also buy tools that are made specifically for picking up crystals, eBay is a great place to find these.
  3. Do a small amount at a time; you do not want the glue to dry before you have had a chance to put the crystals on. I applied glue in around 3-5cm intervals. I found the best technique if you want the crystals to be even was to work line by line going across.
  4. The glue dries quickly so you don’t need to worry about knocking any crystals off.
  5. That’s it really, you have bling shoes!

Let me know if you try this or customise any other shoes, I would love to see pictures!

Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter - 'Peach Parfait'

This is my second Revlon lip butter and I love this one even more than my first! This is in shade 025 ‘Peach Parfait’.

I think it is a beautiful shade that's perfect for summer. The best way that I would describe it is that it is like a light coral/pink colour that’s quite sheer with a little bit of shimmer.

What are your favourite summer lip products?

Stila Lip Shine: 'Violet Shine'

I purchased this Stila Lip Shine in a little haul I did from Direct Cosmetics a couple of weeks ago, click here to have a read. I have used it a few time since and thought I would share my thoughts on it with you guys.

I chose shade number 12 ‘Violet Shine’. From the swatch online I thought this would be more of a colour based lip gloss. However when applied to the lips it is more of a clear gloss with pink undertones. I like the colour as it looks quite natural, it’s just not what I was expecting!

The gloss doesn’t feel at all sticky and leaves your lips looking moisturised for quite a long time, I have used it and my lips have looked hydrated for a couple of hours after applying.

As I mentioned I got this from Direct Cosmetics so didn’t pay the full price, click here! The RRP for this gloss is £12 whereas I paid just £1.79. This is a great saving and I do really like this gloss. However, would I pay £12 for it? Probably not. I don’t think I would pay more than £5 for it but for £1.79 it is a fantastic gloss.

Have you tried any Stila products?

DKNY Be Delicious

So today I thought I would tell you guys about one of my favourite perfumes to wear in the summer. I really love perfume and switch it up depending on my mood, weather and things like that.

The DKNY Be Delicious perfume is just perfect for the summer months. It is really light and fresh, some perfumes I find can be too heavy to wear in summer but this one is just so lovely.

As you might have guessed from the shape of the bottle Be Delicious does contain elements of apple. But don’t worry, you aren’t going to have an over riding scent of a fruit bowl! The apple is blended with other notes such as grapefruit, cucumber, rose and white amber. These blend together to give a really crisp fragrance.

Surprisingly for a light scent this perfume has great staying power. You can smell it on your skin at the end of the day after spraying it in the morning.

This is now one of my staple perfumes in my collection and is one that I will definitely be repurchasing.

What are your favourite summer perfumes?

April Favourites

Hello lovelies and welcome to my first ‘Favourites’ post!
I have used a few different products this month but these are the ones that I have really been loving.

Sophie Kinsella ‘The Undomesticated Goddess’ – I am about half way through this book so far and I am really enjoying it. It is definitely a chick- lit, nice light reading and something which I think would be perfect to take away with you on holiday.

Superdrug Dry Skin relief Lotion – The sun has arrived! Therefore legs can come out. I suffer with a small amount of eczema on my legs so I’m cautious about what moisturiser I use on them. This one from Superdrug works wonders. It is great on sensitive skin and relieves dryness.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in ‘Pink Rose’ – This is a beautiful soft pink that gives you just that extra bit of subtle colour on your cheeks. It is not a colour I would normally choose but it really is beautiful.

Revlon Lip Butter in ‘Raspberry Pie’ – I love, love, love this! I adore the colour and the overall quality of the product. I will definitely be purchasing more. You can see my original post here.

Essie ‘Tart Deco’ – This is a beautiful spring/summer shade which I am sure I will wear constantly this year. See my original post here.
